Sounds awkward, right? After all, snacking and weight loss are two terms that simply cannot coexist together, right? Wrong! It is generally assumed that you simply cannot lose weight if you keep snacking all the time. But this is mostly because people tend to snack on all the wrong foods. If the right kinds of edibles are selected, you can snack and lose weight at the same time. Still find it too hard to believe? With the right mindset you really can do anything! Here is what you need to know.
Snacking While You Diet
Yes, it’s true that snacks can make you gain weight, but only if those snacks comprise of junk food items or foods that are high on sugar and fats. This means that if you decide to keep munching on chips, cookies, donuts or candy bars then you will definitely put on some pounds. On the other hand, if you snack the right way, it’ll not only leave you feeling happily satisfied with tingling taste buds, but it will also speed up your weight loss efforts. Below is a list of all the things that you can consume when your heart yearns for some snacks (just make sure to watch your portions).
Grab a bowl and treat yourself. Just be careful not to add butter and salt, as salt will make you retain water.
Tomatoes with Feta Cheese
This delicious snack is simple to make. All you have to do is cut up one tomato in rings, sprinkle some Feta on top and munch away. Do not consume more than 1 tomato at a time, though.
Mixed, Roasted Nuts
Simply toss together some of your favorite nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts, pecans. Then roast them and store them in a jar. For some additional flavor, you can also add in some dried cranberries and shredded coconut to the nut mixture. Whenever you feel like it, take out a handful and munch on the go.
Fruits with Almond/Peanut Butter
Take apples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries and slice them as you like. Then take 2 tablespoon of whichever nut butter you like best, spread it on the fruits and eat away. This is both an amazing snack as well as a great dessert.
Not only are they great in terms of taste, they are also very filling and healthy. You can pick flavors like chocolate peanut, strawberry and cream and eat them while you do just about anything.
Veggies with Hummus
The veggie choice can include carrots, celery, kale, broccoli, cucumbers, olives or whatever else you like. Simply take 2 tablespoons of hummus, dip the veggie chunks in it and enjoy. Just make sure you don’t use potatoes as they can result in unnecessary calories.
Honey Yogurt and Fat Free Crackers
All you need to do is add a teaspoon of honey to some fresh, plain yogurt and spread it on some crackers.
